Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 20 – On Thursday (Mar. 20), Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn and Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia Ueno Atsushi signed the Exchange of Notes and accompanying documents on the extension of:

- Japanese Government’s Grand Aid of JPY 1,166,000,000 (approximately USD 8.3 million) for strengthening Cambodia Mine Action Centre’s Capacity on the South-South Cooperation Training; and

- Japanese Government’s additional Grant Aid of JPY 300,000,000 (approximately USD 2.1 million) for the implementations of the Project for the Construction of Training Complex and Outreach Facility of Cambodia Mine Action Centre.

“The assistance for the above two projects would contribute to Cambodia’s national mine action strategy toward achieving the goal of mine-free Cambodia by 2030. Furthermore, the project would also reaffirm Japan’s steadfast commitment to supporting Cambodia’s socio-economic development,” according to the press release seen by Fresh News on Thursday (Mar. 20).
