Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 21 – AirAsia reaffirmed its commitment to expanding passenger and tourist connectivity to Cambodia.

Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AirAsia, paid a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet on 20 March 2025 at the Peace Palace.

During the meeting, the Group CEO expressed his pleasure and pride in AirAsia’s investment in Cambodia, highlighting the country’s strong potential for aviation development.

He noted that with the construction of three new airports in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Preah Sihanouk provinces, the number of passengers and tourists traveling to Cambodia is expected to grow steadily. He also reaffirmed AirAsia’s dedication to enhancing connectivity and increasing the flow of travellers to the country.

For his part, Prime Minister Hun Manet congratulated AirAsia on its growth and success in Cambodia, acknowledging the airline’s role in contributing to the nation’s socio-economic development, particularly in the tourism sector.

Samdech Thipadei also underlined Cambodia’s efforts to introduce key mechanisms and measures to support and encourage airlines and travel agencies operating in the country. He urged AirAsia to collaborate with the government in further promoting Cambodia’s tourism development.
