Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 21 – Laurent Ferreira, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Bank of Canada and a shareholder of ABA Bank, expressed confidence that ABA Bank will continue to contribute to the growth of Cambodia’s banking sector.

Laurent Ferreira paid a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet on 20 March 2025 at the Peace Palace.

Laurent Ferreira briefed Samdech Thipadei on ABA Bank’s progress, highlighting that it has become the leading bank in Cambodia. He also underlined ABA Bank’s commitment to operating in Cambodia and contributing to the modernisation of the country’s banking system.

The CEO expressed his belief that ABA Bank will continue to play a vital role in strengthening Cambodia’s banking sector.

For his part, Prime Minister Hun Manet congratulated ABA Bank on its growth and its position as the country’s leading bank. He also commended the bank’s contributions to modernising Cambodia’s banking system through secure and convenient online transactions.

Additionally, Samdech Thipadei underscored key policies introduced by the Royal Government to ensure the resilience of Cambodia’s banking sector. He encouraged ABA Bank to explore opportunities to support the development of the agro-industrial sector, a government priority aimed at increasing value addition in agriculture.
