Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 21 – esponding to a social media comment questioning why Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng was not granted the five-star general rank alongside Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh and Samdech Kittisanghabandit Men Sam An, Samdech Techo Hun Sen dismissed such discussions as an attempt to create division within the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP).

Samdech Techo presided over a ceremony conferring the five-star general rank on former Defence Minister Tea Banh and former Minister of Inspection Men Sam An on Friday (Mar. 21).

Samdech Techo issued a strong warning to those who seek to sow discord within the party, stating that any attempt to divide the CPP will only result in self-destruction. He reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding party unity and ensuring that such efforts do not go unchallenged.

On the occasion, Samdech Techo Hun Sen also warned against attempts to divide the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), stressing that anyone who tries to split the party is ultimately dividing themselves. "Do not attempt to divide the CPP," he said. "Those who seek to divide the party are only dividing themselves.”

At the same time, Samdech Techo Hun Sen reiterated his stance, highlighting that any further attempts to create internal division will only lead to more serious consequences for those involved.

It is worth noting that the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) was founded on 28 June 1951, and has consistently upheld its mission to stand with the people, overcome all challenges, and make sacrifices for Cambodia’s independence, peace, democracy, and social progress.

The CPP has played a pivotal role in the country’s history, uniting patriotic forces to form the Solidarity Front for the National Salvation of Kampuchea, leading the struggle to overthrow the Khmer Rouge genocidal regime, and contributing to the nation’s continued development and prosperity.
