Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 21 – Cambodian Senate President, Samdech Techo Hun Sen recalled that when intelligence reports indicated that Y Chhien was conspiring with Ta Mok, Samdech Tea Banh was the one who protected Y Chhien.

Samdech Techo presided over a ceremony conferring the five-star general rank on former Defence Minister Tea Banh and former Minister of Inspection Men Sam An on Friday (Mar. 21).

At the time, Samdech Techo placed his trust in Tea Banh, and it was later revealed that Y Chhien had, in fact, been actively opposing Ta Mok. Furthermore, Samdech Techo noted that the success of the win-win policy might not have been possible without Tea Banh’s role and contributions.
