Kandal (FN), Mar. 21 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet recalled that since childhood, his grandparents and parents had always taught him to be a good person, and this education has remained deeply ingrained in his heart to this day.
The premier spoke on Friday (Mar. 21) at the inauguration of a school building and various achievements at Hun Sen Sereipheap High School, Takhmao City, Kandal Province.
“I don’t remember what my parents bought for me, but I remember their words. My grandmother said, ‘Son, don’t boast; observe how people help one another.’ She told me that wealth will eventually fade, but the spirit of a child must be upheld. Today, parents are with you; tomorrow, parents may be gone, and you must carry on with the right spirit. These words will stay with me for a lifetime,” the premier underscored.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei also highlighted that moral education and respect for discipline are essential for young students. He noted that during his first year at the US military academy, he was taught to pay attention to small tasks, such as folding a blanket properly.
