Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 24 – The three-day 9th River Festival, which took place from 21-23 March 2025 in the capital of Takeo province, attracted over 300,000 national and international tourists.

According to a report from the Ministry of Tourism, during the festival, a total of 357,966 visitors attended the event at Takeo Lakeside Park, including 1,028 foreign tourists.

On the first day, there were 101,367 national tourists and 260 foreign tourists. On the second day, the number increased to 108,000 national tourists and 300 foreign tourists, while on the third day, the attendance reached 148,599 national tourists and 468 foreign tourists.

It is important to note that throughout the three-day festival at Takeo Lakeside Park, various activities were organised to entertain both local citizens and national and international visitors. These included a 5-kilometre mass run, kayaking on Takeo Lake, chess and Khmer martial arts competitions, and numerous other sports. In the evening, performances such as a Yike drama, a musical concert featuring renowned artists, an exhibition showcasing Takeo province’s achievements, as well as lantern lighting and fireworks displays, added to the celebrations.
