Sihanoukville (FN), Mar. 26 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet urged students to strive to be valuable assets to society, not burdens, speaking on Wednesday (Mar. 26) at the official inauguration of the new school building, teachers' dormitory, and management facility at Hun Sen Veal Rehn High School.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said: “All students must work hard to learn and seize opportunities. We define ourselves as either a burden or a resource to society. If we possess virtue, knowledge, and skills, we become a resource to society and our families. However, , if we engage in harmful behaviours like drug use or violence, we are a burden to our families and ourselves."

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei noted that while we have a new, well-equipped school, students' success depends on their effort to learn. He added that, although luck might help students pass exams, success in the workforce is determined by their skills and abilities, not luck. He also emphasized that the true greatness of parents is seeing their children succeed, with the most important goal being to follow the path of dharma. However, since parents cannot always be with us, our success ultimately depends on our own efforts.

At the same time, Samdech Thipadei said that when students succeed, teachers take pride in their achievements and look forward to seeing their future progress over the next 10 to 20 years. Parents and the government share the same hope: to see qualified, skilled individuals who can serve the nation with high efficiency.
