Sihanoukville (FN), Mar. 26 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet emphasised the importance of working hard to achieve tangible results that people can see and recognise.
The premier spoke on Wednesday (Mar. 26) at the official inauguration of the new school building, teachers' dormitory, and management facility at Hun Sen Veal Rehn High School.
"Leading a country inevitably invites criticism. No one is perfect, and not everyone will be respected or loved in the same way. Opinions differ, but what matters is doing the right thing. Regardless of what others say, our goal is to produce real, visible results so that those around us can recognise our achievements," the premier underscored.
Samdech Thipadei further stated that the best way to respond to critics is through hard work and visible progress, with thousands of people serving as witnesses to the results. He cautioned against wasting energy dwelling on negativity or those who constantly criticise, as doing so would only hinder success.
At the same time, the premier drew a distinction between unfounded criticism and genuine public concerns. He likened baseless negativity to "noise," while describing the people's needs and demands as "real voices" that deserve attention. The premier stressed that he focuses solely on these real voices rather than unnecessary distractions.
He added that true leadership requires resilience, as those working towards meaningful change may endure hardship. However, he asserted that as long as critics tire themselves out without causing real harm, there is no need to be concerned. Instead, his priority remains listening to the people's legitimate concerns and turning them into concrete achievements.
Samdech Thipadei added, "Today, the school is inaugurated. This week, the Kampot International Tourism Port will be inaugurated [...] and we will continue to drive forward more and more achievements."
