Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 29 — Cambodian Acting President of the Senate Ouch Borith sent a condolences letter to Thai President of Senate Mongkol Surasajja following the recent powerful earthquake on 28 March 2025.

"It is with a heavy heart that I extend to you and, through you, to the people of the Kingdom of Thailand our deepest condolences and heartfelt solidarity following the recent powerful earthquake that struck parts of your country on Friday, 28 March 2025, resulting in the significant loss of lives, injuries, the disappearance of others, widespread destruction and significant hardship for the affected areas and communities," according to the letter seen by Fresh News on Saturday (Mar. 29).

"On behalf of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia and in my personal capacity, I convey our heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost loved ones and to all those affected by this tragic event. During this difficult time, we stand in solidarity with the Thai people and the Royal Thai Government. We recognize the strength and resilience of the Thai nation and have full confidence in your authorities efforts to provide relief, ensure the safety of affected communities, and begin the process of recovery.

Please accept our deepest sympathy and unwavering support. Our thoughts remain with the victims, their families, and the brave responders working tirelessly in the face of this calamity."
