Denmark (FN), Apr. 5 – Sam Serey, President of the now-dissolved Khmer National Liberation Front, announced the group's dissolution and sent a letter to Acting Head of State Hun Sen and Prime Minister Hun Manet, requesting a pardon to facilitate his return to Cambodia.
On social media, Sam Serey announced: “To my compatriots at home and abroad, as well as foreign friends and international organizations, I officially declare the dissolution of the Khmer National Liberation Front and the Khmer Government-in-Exile, effective immediately."
In a letter to Acting Head of State Hun Sen and Prime Minister Hun Manet, Sam Serey requested a pardon to facilitate his return to Cambodia and announced the immediate dissolution of the Khmer National Liberation Front and the Khmer Government-in-Exile.
The letter continued: “Samdech Techo and Samdech Thipadei, in the spirit of solidarity to uphold peace and safeguard the interests and well-being of the Cambodian people, I, Sam Serey, pledge to unite as one Khmer, respect the Constitution of the Kingdom of Cambodia, uphold peace and multi-party democracy, and work together to prevent violations of the law.”
