Kampong Chhnang (FN), Apr. 9 – KB PRASAC Bank held the inauguration ceremony of the 47th library building at Punley primary school and secondary school in Punley village, Ponley commune, Boribo district, Kampong Speu province, in order to promote education sector and instill reading culture, under the high presidency of Her Excellency Dr. Soeur Socheata, Undersecretary of State of Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport on April 4, 2025, with the participation of management from National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), Kampong Chhang Provincial Department of Education, Youth and Sport, district officials, local authorities, teachers, students and local residents.

Ly Phallin, Deputy District Governor of Boribo, said that the library provides opportunities for students who are the descendants of the people in our Punley commune community to read and study. On behalf of the local authorities, he highly appreciates KB PRASAC Bank for its contribution to the Royal Government in human resource development. Therefore, teachers, students and the community shall work together to preserve this valuable resource, while students must continue to study hard for their future.

Oum Sam Oeun, President and Chief Executive Officer of KB PRASAC Bank, said that, “We are pleased to provide library building to Punley primary and secondary school. This library is a storehouse of knowledge for students to absorb to strengthen ability by reading and researching.” He added that education is the foundation of development. So far, KB PRASAC Bank has constructed 47 buildings. He hopes that all students will make every effort to read and study through this library to improve and expand their knowledge to become good students, good children, good citizens and contribute to the economic and social development of Cambodia.

Soeur Socheata, Under-secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, praised and thanked KB PRASAC Bank for its efforts to contribute to the Ministry's education, youth and sports in promoting the reading and education of students through the construction of the library buildings. This library will contribute to cultivating human resources, which are the greatest resources for our country. She emphasizes that students need to study diligently and teachers must continue to strengthen their skills through self-research so that their teaching is more effective.

So far, KB PRASAC Bank Library Project has put in place 47 buildings covering 505 villages with a total of 11,0951 households with the population of 454,559 in 15 provinces, including Kampong Speu, Kampong Cham, Kandal, Prey Veng, Kampong Thom, Siem Reap, Takeo, Preah Vihear, Battambang, Svay Rieng, Banteay Meanchey, Kep, Pursat, Tboung Khmum and Kampong Chhnang, with 172,554 students who directly benefit from this library project.
