Tboung Khmum (FN), Apr. 12 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet approved the allocation of approximately 6,000 hectares of land in Stung Treng province for a company to develop an agro-industrial factory.

The premier spoke on Saturday (Apr. 12) during the inauguration of National Road 71C connecting Tbong Khmum-Kampong Cham.

“This evening, I approved the coordination of over 6,000 hectares of land for an investment project in Stung Treng, where a company will engage in agricultural activities and plans to establish a factory. This will contribute to transforming the province into an agro-industrial hub,” the premier underscored.

Samdech Thipadei noted that while many areas in Cambodia were once isolated, this is no longer the case. Although regions may still be physically distant, they are no longer disconnected, thanks to the expansion of road networks linking the capital to all provinces.

Samdech Thipadei added, “We will continue our efforts to bring provinces closer together. Even though 150 kilometres remains 150 kilometres in distance, modern road infrastructure reduces travel time, making journeys faster and more efficient.”

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei also noted that the northeastern region—comprising Mondulkiri, Ratanakkiri, Kratie, and Stung Treng—will see further development in road infrastructure to strengthen connectivity and integration with the rest of the country.
