Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 15 – On April 13, the 5th China International Consumer Products Expo opened in Haikou, Hainan Province, China. On the same day, a series of activities of "Buy in China" was launched.
Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, leaders of the UK, Slovakia and other relevant countries and heads of international organizations attended the launching ceremony.
The CICPE attracted more than 1,700 companies and 4,100 brands from more than 70 countries and regions around the world. As the largest consumer exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region, the CICPE provides an important platform for global enterprises to share the Chinese market and Chinese enterprises to go to the world stage.
The Chinese market contains huge investment and consumption potential, which is the consensus of exhibitors. Last year, the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, Malaysia for the first time organized 20 enterprises and 60 brands to participate in the exhibition. At this year's CICPE, Malaysia continues to organize many enterprises covering food and beverage, beauty, skin care, jewelry and other fields to participate in the exhibition, looking at China contains "huge investment and consumption potential." Malaysia's bird's nest has been loved by Chinese consumers, the head of a bird's nest booth at the exhibition believes that Chinese consumers' health awareness has been significantly enhanced, and the health consumption potential is huge, providing a rare market opportunity for global enterprises.
For the enterprises that come to the exhibition for the first time, it is full of confidence in the Chinese market. At the exhibition site, Cambodian pepper is sought after. It is expected that the export volume of Cambodia pepper to China will further increase this year, the relevant person in charge believes that the Chinese consumer market has large potential, wide space, and a good business environment, Cambodian companies said that they would like to deeply cooperate with Chinese enterprises, seize market opportunities, expand the supply of the Chinese market, and the next step is to jointly develop, process and produce new products with Chinese enterprises. Let our trade benefit more people.
"To walk with China is to walk with opportunities", which is the consensus of many exhibitors. Southeast Asia is an important Robusta coffee growing region in the world, and Vietnam's Robusta coffee supply accounts for about one-third of the global supply. The relevant person in charge of the Zhongyuan Legend Group in Vietnam has so far remembered the third CICPE, and it was at the coffee industry special promotion meeting held at the CICPE that they signed a cooperation agreement with the Chengmai County Government in Hainan, China, to create a coffee industry brand demonstration project. In 2017, the company opened only one office in China, and today, the group has opened more than 20 offline stores in China. Vietnam Zhongyuan Legend Group is planning to upgrade cooperation with Hainan Chengmai, Wanning and other places, promote special coffee trucks, create coffee joint brands, and explore the establishment of international Robusta bean coffee standard system.
In recent years, China-Vietnam economic and trade cooperation has developed steadily, with China becoming Vietnam's largest trading partner since 2004 and Vietnam becoming China's largest trading partner in ASEAN since 2016. Bilateral trade has exceeded 200 billion U.S. dollars for four consecutive years.
Common development and win-win cooperation are the key words of this exhibition. China has been Cambodia's largest trading partner for many years in a row. With the Expo as a bridge, Cambodia's agricultural products can closely embrace the opportunities of the Chinese market, and Cambodian enterprises can also share the development dividends of the Chinese market and explore the possibility of business expansion.
At this exhibition, many visitors were attracted by Cambodian rice, especially jasmine rice that can emit light flowers after cooking, attracting many visitors to make inquiries, which makes the rice merchants on the scene full of confidence in the consumption potential of the Chinese market. There are also Malaysian food companies on the scene, which have brought many new products to the exhibition, hoping to harvest new orders and open new markets through the platform of the Expo.
In recent years, with the in-depth implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and the mutual visa exemption between China and Malaysia, the economic and trade cooperation and personnel exchanges between the two sides have become increasingly close. Hainan, China has organized delegations to visit and negotiate with Malaysia many times, and signed a series of cooperation agreements in the fields of agriculture, trade, education, business services, etc. Malaysia has increased its understanding of the Chinese market and promoted more cooperation by participating in the CICPE and other events.
This year's CICPE continues the theme of "Sharing open opportunities and creating a better life" from April 13 to 18. With a population of over 1.4 billion, China enjoys vast market space and strong driving force for consumption upgrading. The successful holding of not only the CICPE, but also major international exhibitions such as the China International Import Expo (CIIE), the China International Fair for Trade in Services(CIFTIS), the Global Digital Trade Expo (GDTE)and the China International Supply Chain Expo(CISCE) has become a vivid footnote and powerful practice of China's high-level opening-up. We have every reason to believe that China is pursuing opening-up at a high level, and its door will only open wider.
