Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 17 – Fresh News, a leading Cambodian media outlet, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China Media Group (CMG), a major Chinese state-owned media organisation, on Thursday (Apr. 17) to enhance media cooperation during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s two-day state visit to Cambodia.

Lim Cheavutha, Founder and CEO of Fresh News, signed the MoU with CMG, represented by Cao Yi, Director of the Asia-Pacific Department, to promote broader and more meaningful collaboration in media relations between the two sides.

The signing ceremony of the MoU and the exchange of documents took place during the launch event of the program “The Classic Quotes by Xi Jinping” and the Cambodia-China People-to-People Exchange Event, organised by China Media Group (CMG) at Raffles Hotel Le Royal.

The event was held in the presence of Neth Pheaktra, Minister of Information; Shen Haixiong, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of China and President of China Central Radio and Television; Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism; Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts; and Sok Touch, President of the Royal Academy of Cambodia.

Also present at the event were Mar Yarith, Senior Advisor to Fresh News and Head of Fresh News Media Training; Khim Vuthy, Director General of Cambodian National Television; Khvay Atitya, Director General of Apsara Television; Meas Rithy, Deputy Director General of Hang Meas Television; Puy Kea, President of the Cambodian Journalists Club; Yang Peou, Secretary General of the Royal Academy of Cambodia; Kin Phea, Director General of the International Relations Institute of Cambodia of the Royal Academy of Cambodia; along with many other distinguished leaders.
