Pursat (FN), Apr. 22 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that the Royal Government of Cambodia welcomes foreign investment in automotive component assembly, aiming to create local jobs and make new cars more affordable for the public.

The premier spoke on Tuesday (Apr. 22) at the inauguration of new Ford production line and Ford sub-assembly plant of RMA (Cambodia) Plc. in Pursat Province.

Samdech Thipadei underlined that the government’s commitment to political stability offers investors a sense of certainty. He noted that the Royal Government of Cambodia consistently works across mandates to improve the investment climate, attract more investors, and support their long-term success.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet stated, “In some countries, businesses are facing increasing restrictions, prompting investors to leave. While those countries may be large, Cambodia offers stability. From one mandate to the next, we focus on reform—streamlining procedures, reducing burdens, and simplifying regulations. Even in this sector, we have introduced numerous preferential policies to support investors.”

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei also highlighted that investor-friendly reforms have delivered tangible benefits, including job creation for Cambodian citizens. He cited Ford as an example, which has expanded its workforce from 160 to over 400 employees—demonstrating a commitment to improving livelihoods and contributing to a more circular economy.

In addition, the prime minister said that measures such as tax exemptions, relief, and targeted incentives have supported local production, enabling citizens to purchase new, internationally standard vehicles at more affordable prices—ultimately expanding consumer choice.
