Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 22 – Emirates, the largest international carrier, is flying daily to Phnom Penh from Dubai, with a stopover in Singapore, using the modern Boeing 777-300ER.

In this flight, there are three classes. 8 private suites in First Class, 42 lie-flat seats for Business Class and 310 seats for Economy Class.

Fortunately, from 26-30 March 2025, journalists from Fresh News and other media outlet such as PNN and Kiripost, 6 in total, were invited to visit Dubai to get new experience by flying Emirates’s Business Class.

At Phnom Penh capital city, we checked in at 18:30PM on 26 March. This check in can also be done online at emirates.com. EK349 took off from Phnom Penh capital city and landed in Singapore, which took about 2 hours. Then, it took off to Dubai. It took 7 hours to fly to Dubai and we arrived at around 6:00AM, 27 March. 6:00AM in Dubai equals to 9AM in Cambodia. Via this trip, I would like to share some experience, especially the experience on Emirates’s Boeing 777-300ER as follows:

Prior to boarding

Holding Business Class ticket gives an unimaginable feeling. Prior to boarding, we can sit down and enjoy delicious food and both non-alcoholic and alcoholic drink freely at Emirates Lounge at all airports (for Phnom Penh airport, it is Plaza Premium Lounge). In addition to food and drink, you can take a shower or have a massage to relax, which makes us forget the waiting time. When the boarding time was near, Emirates Lounge staff informed and escorted us to the gate, while helping to prepare our stuff for scanning.

Comfortable seat, smile and friendliness

When we stepped in B777-300ER, we first received “sweet smile and hello” shown to us by cabin crew. Next, they told us where to sit. We can also ask to change seat if empty seats are available. There were pillow, blanket and earphone on the seat to entertain us during the flight. The seat was comfortable. On the right, we can take out a table to dine on it. A place for storing beverages, a place for storing tablet to connect to the front TV. A button to set settings on the seat before and after boarding the airplane, both for normal seating and for converting it into a bed.

All cabin crew were friendly and provided excellent services. When we need anything from them, they will arrive immediately after the press of a button on the seat near our hand. Back then, had the feeling of being treated like a king. Our seat was not far from the restroom, which made it easily accessible.

Food and drink

After we took a seat, the cabin crew immediately brought a lot of drinks. After that, we were provided with a warm napkin to clean our face and hands before consuming the food.

Menu with lots of food and alcoholic drinks to choose from to your taste, with both breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Alcoholic drinks come with a lot of options such as whiskey, champagne, red wine. Our food desk looked like a fancy restaurant on which we could dine delicious food, drink wine or other beverages, creating memories in the process.

Entertainment

In addition to delicious regional food and branded drinks to freely choose from, we also got entertainment on the airplane. Emirates’ award-winning entertainment system will make the trip even more enjoyable, with a library of more than 6500 channels featuring international movies, TV programs, sports, news, music, podcast and games with over 40 languages. These entertainment programs make us feel the flight is not long, letting us forget the time.

Relaxation (sleeping)

As mentioned above, the flight from Singapore to Dubai took around 7 hours, which took place at night. Therefore, we must take a nap to conserve energy. During this 7-hour flight, using Business Class is the most appropriate choice as it lets us sleep easily, like resting on a bed.

Having a pillow and a blanket was not enough, cabin crew knew their role and worried greatly about our sleep. At first, I did not know there was a mistress for us to sleep on the airplane. The cabin crew approached me two times. Thinking that I had fallen asleep, they chose not to wake me up. They brought us a mattress to make sure that we slept well on the flatten bed. In addition, they also provided us with a small package which contained a pair of soft socks and a sleeping mask to prevent light from coming in, adding us in our sleep.

Souvenir bag

Out of great consideration for customers before landing, Cabin Crew prepared a small BVLGARI bag which contained cosmetics and daily essentials. In this beautiful bag, it has a small BVLGARI perfume, Rexona roll-on, toothbrush, comb, razor blade and body soap etc. We can use these products with confidence and they are enough for our trip.

Landing

After landing at Dubai International Airport, the world’s busiest, we were welcome by Emirates team, who escorted us to the immigration gate. There were people who helped bring our suitcase from the airport to the hotel. At the immigration, tourist can receive a free sim card which has 10GB of internet data, valid for one day.

Above are just some of my experiences of flying Emirates from Phnom Penh to Dubai. The experience of flying from Dubai to Phnom Penh is very similar. I am quite happy with the excellent services of Business Class.

Obviously, everyone wants to gain new and good experience, whether it is travel, food or accommodation as time is slowly taking it course. Taking a trip is one of the best choices to recharge our energy and reduce our tiredness as a result of working hard to make a living daily.

If you want to fly Emirates, a world class airline, especially on a long-haul flight, I recommend you choose Business Class. I assure that you will enjoy Emirates’s incredible services, more than what I have experienced.
