Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 23 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed his gratitude to the Thai government for waiving visa fees for Cambodian nationals who returned home during the recent New Year celebrations.
The premier spoke on Wednesday (Apr. 23) during a joint statement with his Thai counterpart Paetongtarn Shinawatra at the Peace Palace.
Samdech Thipadei underscored, “I would like to thank our Thai friends for their continued support of Cambodian workers, particularly for waiving the re-entry permit fees for those who returned to Cambodia during the recent New Year to reunite with their families, in response to my previous request.”
The visa fee exemption for Thai re-entry permits will be effective from 1 April to 15 May 2025, benefitting Cambodian migrant workers who wish to return home for the traditional New Year. This measure was agreed upon jointly by the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Royal Government of Thailand during Samdech Thipadei’s previous official visit to Thailand.
