(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that over the past two years, the Royal Government has faced many difficult challenges, but it has survived and whatever does not kill us will make us stronger.

The premier spoke on Sunday (Apr. 27) during his meeting with leaders of Informal Economic Associations at OCIC, Phnom Penh.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet noted that politicians abroad may continue to accuse and criticise, but the Royal Government remains committed to protecting the interests of Cambodian citizens, workers, and improving working conditions within the country.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet remarked that critics highlight the government's weaknesses but ignore its successes. He pointed out that when rice prices rose or tourist numbers increased, there was little recognition, yet criticism was swift during challenges like falling cashew prices or lower tourist turnout. He added that even heavy criticism presents an opportunity for growth.

In this regard, Prime Minister Hun Manet added that while he respects the right to share information, he urged the public to trust that the Royal Government is working tirelessly to protect the interests of all citizens.

On the occasion, the premier affirmed that even if the United States imposes tariffs, Cambodia will endure, not collapse. He added that the government will work harder to build capacity, diversify the economy, and expand exports to Europe and beyond, declaring, "Whatever does not kill us will make us stronger."
