(Takeo): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet urged the private sector and businesses to explore investment opportunities along National Roads No. 31, No. 33, and No. 41, highlighting the potential to increase corporate profits and generate employment for the local population.
The premier spoke on Tuesday (Apr. 29) at the inauguration ceremony for the official use of National Roads No. 31, No. 33, and No. 41, held in Takeo Province.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet underscored, “I call on the private sector and businesses to recognize and seize the investment potential of these newly developed roads, national roads no. 31, No. 33, and no. 41, both now and in the future.”
Samdech Thipadei added that infrastructure development is not limited to roads alone, noting the government’s efforts to improve railways and waterways. We are also enhancing our rail network and encouraging early investment in waterways and canals that pass through Kandal, Kampong Speu, Takeo, and Kampot provinces.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei underlined hat the government is creating favourable conditions for investment by simply facilitating conditions for citizens, private companies, and investors to recognise these opportunities on their own and to consider investing in Cambodia’s southwest region, a zone with great economic potential and profitability for both local and international businesses.
Samdech Thipadei added that a road without people using it has no value. Likewise, infrastructure without investors bringing it to life offers limited potential. Therefore, the government will continue to encourage provincial and district authorities in the southwest to actively attract more investors.
