(Phnom Penh): Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation Hem Vandy met with a delegation from the TE Zhong Equipment Inspection Research Institute, led by Long Xiongfei, to discuss strengthening industrial safety in Cambodia.

During the meeting, Long Xiongfei emphasized TE Zhong’s advanced Chinese technology and expertise in equipment and machinery safety inspections. He outlined plans for collaboration with the Ministry on initiatives such as technical personnel training and safety system enhancements for factories.

Industrial safety remains a top priority for Cambodia amid the rapid growth of its industrial sector. The Ministry has been actively rolling out safety standards across enterprises to reduce workplace risks and attract investment.

Minister Hem Vandy congratulated the delegation on the official launch of the Cambodia Special Equipment Inspection Centre, recognizing its vital role in ensuring the safe operation and management of special equipment in the country.

He expressed confidence that the centre would contribute significantly to professional skills development, human resource training, and job creation. He also encouraged ongoing cooperation and technical exchanges between the centre and the Ministry, especially in addressing safety risks uncovered during inspections.

Minister Vandy concluded by calling for joint efforts to establish a comprehensive safety framework for special equipment in Cambodia.
