(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Minister of National Defence Tea Seiha announced on Wednesday (May 14) that two Cambodian military personnel were killed during a mission in the city of Malakal, under the Royal Cambodian Military Police’s deployment in the Republic of South Sudan.

“On behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of National Defence and all officers, non-commissioned officers, and enlisted personnel of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, I would like to express my deepest condolences and sorrow over the loss of two soldiers who were killed during a mission in Malakal, Republic of South Sudan,” Tea Seiha underscored.

Minister Tea Seiha emphasised that the loss of these two distinguished soldiers is a profound tragedy. He noted that they had selflessly given their lives in service to their homeland, contributed to international peacekeeping under the United Nations, and shared the compassion of the Cambodian people until their final moments.

He concluded with a prayer for the two soldiers, wishing their souls eternal peace and unity beyond death.
