(Phnom Penh): Cambodia and the United States have agreed to hold the second round of negotiations on a Reciprocal Trade Agreement in the first week of June 2025 in Washington, D.C.
The Government of Cambodia, led by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet will continue to cooperate closely with the US to achieve a mutually beneficial trade and investment relationship.
According to the Royal Government Spokesperson Unit, from 13-15 May 2025, in Washington, D.C., Sun Chanthol, First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia and Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce, led the Ad Hoc Cambodia-US Bilateral Relations Coordination Working Group to negotiate the Cambodia-US Agreement on Reciprocal Trade with the US, led by Sarah Ellerman, Assistant US Trade Representative for Southeast Asia and the Pacific.
During this round of negotiations, both sides exchanged their views in a frank and constructive manner in an atmosphere of mutual understanding on ways to further strengthening bilateral trade and investment and had in-depth discussions on the draft Agreement.
Both sides agreed to hold the second round of negotiations in the first week of June 2025 in Washington, D.C..
