(Kandal): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet advised police officers to exercise clarity and precision in the application of the law, speaking on Friday (May 16) on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the Cambodian National Police.

“The police academy must uphold high standards, ensuring that upon graduation, officers perform in a manner consistent with those standards and responsive to real-world needs. In particular, judicial police officers must possess clear understanding and strong command of the law and its enforcement,” the premier underscored.

On this occasion, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also expressed appreciation to Cambodia’s partner countries, including the Ministry of Public Security of Viet Nam and the Ministry of Public Security of Laos, for their long-standing support and cooperation in training Cambodian police and military personnel across a range of fields.

He stressed that this endeavour is essential to achieving the collective mission of preserving peace, ensuring public safety, and contributing to national stability. He further urged police officers to continue self-development in order to become reliable foundations and key pillars of the nation’s ongoing development.

The premier also noted that the commemoration of the 80th founding anniversary of the National Police is a significant and meaningful occasion to honour and remember the virtues, sacrifices, dedication, and outstanding accomplishments of police officers throughout all generations. He said it is a fitting moment for all to express sincere gratitude and heartfelt recognition for the bravery and sacrifices made in the pursuit of peace.
