(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call by Vietnamese Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang on 16 May 2025 at the Peace Palace.

During the meeting, General Luong Tam Quang expressed his deep gratitude to Samdech Thipadei for the opportunity to pay a courtesy call. He congratulated Cambodia on its progress across all sectors and expressed optimism that, under the wise leadership of Samdech Thipadei and the cool shade of Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, Cambodia would continue to achieve new milestones for the benefit of its people and the nation.

The minister also expressed his satisfaction with the growing friendship, relations, and cooperation between Viet Nam and Cambodia—particularly the collaboration between Viet Nam’s Ministry of Public Security and Cambodia’s Ministry of Interior. He emphasized that this partnership serves as a pillar in the joint efforts to combat crimes such as human trafficking, cyber scams, and drug offenses. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to further strengthening and expanding cooperation with the Cambodian Ministry of Interior to maintain security and stability for the benefit of both nations and their citizens.

In response, Samdech Thipadei welcomed and thanked the Minister and his delegation for attending the 80th anniversary of the establishment of Cambodian National Police (May 16, 1945 – May 16, 2025). Samdech expressed satisfaction with the strong and growing cooperation between the two ministries. The premier also extended his appreciation to the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security for its contributions to Cambodia’s human resource development through ongoing training and capacity-building for Cambodian trainees.

Samdech Thipadei encouraged both ministries to continue fostering the tradition of close collaboration, particularly in the areas of training, maintaining security, and crime prevention, to further deepen the bilateral relationship and cooperation between the two countries.
