(Sihanoukville): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet likened the encouragement he receives from people across all walks of life to a battery recharge, a vital source of energy that never runs dry and keeps him going strong in his duties.
The premier spoke on Thursday (May 22) during his meeting with more than 30,000 workers in the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone.
Samdech Thipadei noted that although his recent work schedule has been extremely busy, his energy has not waned, especially when he feels the sincere support of the people. This encouragement is even more invigorating than drinking a thousand cans of energy drink.
Prime Minister Hun Manet underscored, “Every time I meet with workers, I feel an incredible surge of motivation, more powerful than a thousand energy drinks. Over the past week or two, my schedule has been packed daily, but my energy hasn’t declined. That’s because I’m constantly being recharged by the people, sometimes with lipstick on my cheeks [...] Just this morning, I broke a little sweat, but I felt happy and energised because I had the chance to meet with workers.”
Due to unfavorable weather conditions, Prime Minister Hun Manet was unable to travel by helicopter that morning. Instead, he made an immediate change in plans and traveled overnight by car to Preah Sihanouk Province to ensure he could attend the morning event with workers. Even if it meant holding the event in the rain, it had to proceed, bad weather must never be allowed to derail the mission.
Samdech Thipadei underlined that this particular gathering at the Preah Sihanouk Special Economic Zone (SEZ) was more remarkable than previous ones. While past meetings typically drew around 10,000 participants, this time more than 30,000 workers attended, giving him even greater encouragement and joy.
Samdech Thipadei also expressed high praise and appreciation for the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Administration, and the Preah Sihanouk SEZ, for their collaboration in organising the gathering event, which brought together approximately 32,000 participants.
It should be noted that the new generation of government, full of energy and led by Prime Minister Hun Manet, is advancing with strong confidence toward the national goal of transforming Cambodia into a high-income country by 2050, in line with the aspirations of the Cambodian people.
These developments are the fruits of peace, achieved through the tireless efforts of Samdech Techo Hun Sen and his leadership team. Their legacy has brought about substantial national progress and significantly improved the livelihoods of the Cambodian people. These achievements are now being officially implemented and expanded upon by Prime Minister Hun Manet, as his administration continues to drive forward national development.
