(Phnom Penh): At the start of the talks, Igor Krasnov recalled that Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, during his meeting with Samdech Techo Hun Sen in 2016, praised the Russian-Cambodian friendship, which has been strengthened for almost 70 years since the countries established diplomatic relations. “Russia highly appreciates your personal contribution to the development of bilateral dialogue,” Russian prosecutor general said.

The Head of the Russian supervisory authority stated that cooperation between law enforcement institutions of the two countries in the field of countering transnational organized crime, including those in digital environment, as well as corruption and other modern challenges, is on the rise.

“Together with our Cambodian colleagues, we have already held a large number of meetings, some of them are still to come,” Igor Krasnov said. “The main topics include plans to develop collaboration with the relevant authorities of the Kingdom, including joint work in international formats, organization of events to share advanced experience in prosecutorial and supervisory activities, in scientific and educational sphere”.

Igor Krasnov noted that the Russian Prosecutor General's Office is responsible for ensuring lawfulness in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the military-industrial complex, and in this regard, he expressed his readiness to participate in strengthening partnership relations in the defense sector.

“I am convinced that all agreements resulting from this visit will contribute to enhancing the law enforcement potential of our states and further cooperation, including through your support,” Russian prosecutor general stated.

At the end of the meeting, Igor Krasnov thanked Samdech Techo Hun Sen for the warm welcome, and wished him success in accomplishing state tasks, and peace and prosperity – to the people of Cambodia.
