(Kuala Lumpur): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet paid a courtesy call on Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait, on 27 May 2025 on the sidelines of the 46th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

During the meeting, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah expressed his desire to strengthen and broaden bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries. He also reiterated Kuwait’s readiness to share its expertise with Cambodia in the energy sector, particularly in the field of oil.

The crown prince underscored the importance of continuing high-level visits, which would contribute to further enhancing bilateral cooperation.

In response, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet welcomed Kuwait’s intention to deepen the friendship between the two nations, aligning with the Cambodian government’s foreign policy of strengthening and expanding relations with Middle Eastern countries, including Kuwait. This includes fostering cooperation across various sectors, such as trade, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

Samdech Thipadei also agreed to promote the continuation of high-level exchanges and expressed support for the establishment of a bilateral consultation mechanism between the two foreign ministries to monitor ongoing cooperation and identify new areas for collaboration.
