(Tokyo): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet reaffirmed the Royal Government’s strong commitment to the welfare of frontline troops, particularly in relation to food rations, housing, and land allocation policies.
The premier spoke on Saturday (May 31) during a meeting with Cambodian community in Japan.
Samdech Thipadei highlighted that frontline soldiers receive nearly double the rations provided to rear-line troops. This support is further strengthened through seasonal aid led by Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen, including the distribution of raincoats and winter jackets to soldiers stationed in areas affected by harsh weather conditions.
“The government has prioritised the wellbeing of our troops for decades. Frontline soldiers receive nearly twice the rations compared to those stationed at the rear. We are supporting more than 20,000 soldiers with enhanced financial assistance and additional policies for housing and land. During the rainy and winter seasons, Samdech Techo ensures that raincoats and cold-weather gear are distributed, demonstrating careful consideration for the conditions on the ground,” the premier underscored.
On the occasion, the prime minister emphasised that while it is essential to provide adequate supplies and equipment, the morale and determination of soldiers remain the most decisive elements in achieving victory. He also expressed gratitude to the Cambodian people for their continued moral and material support, particularly during times of crisis such as the recent border standoff with Thailand.
