(Nice): Eang Sophalleth, Cambodian Minister of Environment, signed the Agreement under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea on the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biological Diversity of Areas beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ), on 9 June 2025.

The agreement was signed during the Third United Nations Ocean Conference in Nice, France, a forum dedicated to tackling pressing ocean-related challenges. To date, 134 countries have signed the agreement, and 49 have ratified it.
