(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said that the situation along the Cambodia–Thailand border remains unstable, as Thai troops continue to dig trenches and mobilise heavy artillery on a daily basis.

The premier spoke on Tuesday (Jun. 17) at the Closing of Extraordinary General Assembly of Cambodia Scouts in Phnom Penh.

“As of now, the situation remains unsettled. Accusations and conflicting positions persist. The Thai military continues daily operations involving the repositioning and construction of new military infrastructure. Just yesterday, they accused our forces of pointing cannons at them. Tea Seiha responded clearly cannons don’t point back toward their own base. That’s a fact. However, this does not mean we are firing on anyone. But let us not forget: those making these accusations are the ones mobilising troops and bringing in new heavy artillery every single day even after the JBC [Joint Border Commission] meeting concluded," the premier underscored.

Samdech Thipadei expressed deep appreciation for the courage and patriotism of Cambodia’s frontline troops, praising their bravery, unity, and national solidarity in defending the Kingdom’s legitimate territory.
