(Siem Reap): Cambodian Prime Minister stated that Cambodia operates under a clear chain of command and accountability. When the prime minister issues an order, it is implemented.
The premier spoke on Monday (Jun. 23) at the closing of the Central Committee Meeting of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC) in Siem Reap province.
“When I give an order, I take full responsibility. In Cambodia, subordinates don’t act on their own. This is not like some countries where the prime minister says one thing and the military does another,” the premier stated. “I am not playing the nationalism card. I am fulfilling the mandate entrusted to me by the people to lead the nation through challenges and resolve issues as they arise.”
Samdech Thipadei stressed to the Thai side not to accuse him of playing a nationalist card for popularity. The decisions made by the Royal Government of Cambodia reflect only the will of the Cambodian people. The countermeasures taken to respond to threats from neighbouring countries are justified to protect sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the best interests of Cambodia.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also underlined that Samdech Techo Hun Sen, as President of the ruling party, and he, as Prime Minister, would never remain silent when the nation faces threats of foreign aggression. The rising spirit of nationalism and patriotism across Cambodia supports the Royal Government under the leadership of the Cambodian People’s Party, which fulfils its duties to protect the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The premier affirmed that he takes full responsibility for every measure enacted under his leadership, urging officials to carry out directives without hesitation. He emphasized that the duty of leadership is to serve the nation and protect the homeland from any form of disrespect or aggression by neighbouring countries.
