(Preah Vihear): Cambodian Senate President, Samdech Techo Hun Sen revealed that on 15 June, the Thai prime minister had sent a message via an intermediary regarding plans to remove Anutin Charnvirakul, Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, in order to reinstate a Pheu Thai Party representative in that position.
Samdech Techo spoke on Thursday (Jun. 26) during his meeting with citizens who had fled from the tense Cambodia–Thailand border areas in Preah Vihear province.
"Tomorrow, I will explain it to you clearly. Even when you changed the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Thailand, you told me. If you could betray your own people, would you not also betray me? Of course, you would dare to. On 15 June, you sent someone to inform me of your plan to remove Anutin Charnvirakul from the Ministry of Interior and return it to Pheu Thai. I warned you. If you go through with it, be careful, because he might take action himself. Just wait and see the consequences. If you act arrogantly, I will expose everything tomorrow," Samdech Techo underscored.
Samdech Techo expressed hope that Thailand will soon have a new prime minister to work with Cambodia in resolving border issues, stressing that, like Cambodians, the Thai people also desire peace.
