(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said that Cambodia is actively implementing existing free trade agreements and pursuing new ones to expand market access for Cambodian products. To support these efforts, the Royal Government has significantly invested in physical infrastructure across the country, aiming to help Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) integrate into regional and global value chains.

The premier spoke on Friday (Jun. 27) during the meeting with members of Cambodia’s micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) community, held in celebration of the National MSME Day in Phnom Penh.

Samdech Thipadei emphasised that the Royal Government has established various support mechanisms, including the various support mechanisms, including Khmer Enterprise, the Techo Startup Centre, and infrastructure and quality support institutions in order to help MSMEs adopt digital transformation as a strategic goal to improve standards, enhance quality, and ensure sustainable growth.

"Cambodia is also striving to implement free trade agreements and pursue new trade deals to open up more markets for Cambodian products. The country has invested heavily in physical infrastructure nationwide to support MSMEs in connecting with regional and global value chains, wholesale market networks, product distribution networks through hotels and major restaurants, as well as e-commerce platforms," the premier underscored.

Samdech Thipadei noted that these mechanisms and supports are not merely theoretical but have produced tangible solutions that empowering MSMEs, many of which previously operated outside the formal economy, to emerge as key players in Cambodia's economic landscape.

"Therefore, my message to all MSME owners is this: ‘The Royal Government stands with you always.’ I sincerely hope that the leadership, members, and all stakeholders of the Samdech Techo Foundation for the Development of MSMEs and Cambodia’s handicraft sector will continue fostering strong and effective collaboration to advance the inclusive and sustainable development of micro, small, and medium enterprises," the premier added.
