(Phnom Penh): Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), stated that over the past 74 years, it has become evidently clear that the CPP remains the only political force that has shared both the joys and hardships with the people across all circumstances.

His remarks were made on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the founding of the CPP, held on Saturday morning (Jun. 28) at the CPP headquarters.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen affirmed that the party has consistently upheld its mission and ideals by uniting the entire nation regardless of race, skin colour, gender, language, religious belief, political orientation, past background, or social status, with the aim of building an independent Cambodia marked by peace, freedom, democracy, neutrality, and social progress.

Samdech Techo emphasized that after the historic victory over the genocidal regime on 7 January 1979, the CPP guided the nation on a political path that reflected the people’s aspirations and the country’s realities. Under its leadership, Cambodia achieved significant progress across all sectors—rebuilding the nation, securing peace, and restoring dignity. This allowed the Cambodian people to live with pride, independence, and sovereignty, while healing from the deep wounds of the past.

He continued that, based on this reality, the people have clearly recognized the CPP’s national value as the true representative of the will and interests of citizens from all walks of life. He noted that the CPP has proven fully capable of defending the nation, maintaining peace, fostering socio-economic development, and steering the people toward a prosperous future. This truth has been repeatedly confirmed through overwhelming public support for the party in both national and local elections.

The CPP President affirmed that such public support has enabled the party to successfully implement its political programs, advancing Cambodia steadily through each phase of development.

On the occasion, Samdech Techo Hun Sen also stated that this popular backing has thwarted the toxic schemes of extremist opposition groups and certain biased foreign entities who continuously attempt, through undemocratic means, to undermine the CPP in contradiction to the Constitution and the people’s will.
