(Phnom Penh): Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister and Minister for Finance of Singapore, concluded his official visit to Cambodia and departed from Phnom Penh on Wednesday (Jul. 2).
This one-day official visit underscores the commitment to strengthening the bilateral relations and cooperation between Cambodia and Singapore, which mark their 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2025.
During the visit, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong laid a wreath at the Independence Monument and paid tribute to the late King Father Norodom Sihanouk. He also had a royal audience with His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, held a courtesy meeting with Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen, and held bilateral talks with Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet.
Cambodia and Singapore established diplomatic relations on 15 September 1965. Prime Minister Wong’s visit coincides with the celebration of the 60th anniversary of these ties, highlighting mutual dedication to further enhancing relations and cooperation between the two nations.
It is worth noting that on 18-19 June 2024, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also paid an official visit to Singapore. That visit yielded many positive outcomes and marked another significant step in the strengthening of bilateral ties.
