(Prey Veng): Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen said that in order to avoid embarrassment among its citizens, Thailand can announce to its people that the adjustment of hours is over, speaking on Thursday (Jul. 3) during a meeting with students and teachers at the Chea Sim Komchaymear Education and Training Centre in Prey Veng province.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen stated, “To avoid embarrassment, just tell your people. We don’t care if you call it a closure or a time adjustment. What matters is restoring the original schedule from before 7 June 2025. Simply announce that all border checkpoints will return to normal operations, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. That’s all.”
Samdech Techo firmly stated that Cambodia will not negotiate over the border issue, as it was not the initiator. Thailand unilaterally closed and adjusted the checkpoints.
