(Kampong Thom): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet urged attention to social media content production following the allowance for video monetisation.

Samdech Thipadei spoke on Thursday (Jul. 3) during a groundbreaking ceremony of the Cambodian People's Party headquarters in Kampong Thom province.

Samdech Thipadei noted that as the country advances, some content creators are excessively chasing "views," which leads to a loss of ethical values.

“Some people only care about getting views,” the premier said. “They stage incidents that never happened. While our troops are risking their lives, others are making TikTok videos just to profit. Be very careful as some are using this situation to make money.”

Regarding this issue, Samdech Thipadei urged the Ministry of Interior and relevant authorities to closely monitor online fraudsters, who frequently exploit various opportunities to deceive the public and undermine social security.

Cambodian citizens are kind-hearted and compassionate towards the poor and needy. However, some opportunists often take advantage of these sentiments for personal gain. The prime minister affirmed that the Royal Government will enforce measures to prevent such exploitation, in order to safeguard the interests of the people.
