(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a farewell call from outgoing Czech Ambassador to Cambodia Martin Vávra on 7 July 2025 at the Peace Palace.
During the meeting, the ambassador thanked Samdech Thipadei for allowing him and his delegation to pay a farewell call at the conclusion of his diplomatic mission in Cambodia.
He expressed satisfaction with the progress of Czech-Cambodian relations and cooperation, and highly valued the political consultation mechanism between the two countries' Ministries of Foreign Affairs, which has contributed significantly to strengthening and expanding bilateral ties.
Martin Vávra also extended his gratitude to the Royal Government of Cambodia, along with relevant ministries and institutions, for their valuable support and cooperation throughout his tenure, which has led to numerous fruitful outcomes. He reaffirmed the Czech Republic’s commitment to further deepening cooperation with Cambodia, particularly through development assistance in the fields of education, health, and agriculture. Moreover, he pledged to encourage Czech investors to explore investment opportunities in Cambodia.
For his part, Samdech Thipadei congratulated the Czech Ambassador on the successful completion of his diplomatic mission in Cambodia and expressed his high appreciation for the Ambassador’s active contributions to strengthening and expanding Cambodian–Czech relations and cooperation. He further emphasised that Cambodia and the Czech Republic share long-standing friendly relations, which have been steadily strengthened and expanded over time.
The premier also thanked the Government of the Czech Republic for its support of Cambodia’s socio-economic development, especially through the provision of scholarships for Cambodian students to pursue studies in the former Czechoslovakia and now the Czech Republic, which has greatly contributed to strengthening people-to-people ties.
Samdech Thipadei reaffirmed Cambodia’s readiness to further strengthen bilateral relations, cooperation, and partnership with the Czech Republic.
