(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun manet received a farewell call from outgoing French Ambassador to Cambodia Jacques Pellet on 7 July 2025 at the Peace Palace.
During the meeting, the ambassador thanked Samdech Thipadei for allowing his and his delegation to pay a farewell courtesy call as he concluded his diplomatic mission in Cambodia.
He expressed his deep honour in having represented the French Republic in the Kingdom of Cambodia, noting that Cambodia was both the first and final posting of his diplomatic career. He also extended his sincere appreciation to the prime minister for attending the Third United Nations Ocean Conference, held in Nice, France, in June 2025.
The ambassador highlighted the wide-ranging cooperation between France and Cambodia, which reflects the strength of their bilateral relations. He also respectfully informed the Samdech Thipadei of the continued efforts to further strengthen and expand cooperation in key sectors, including security and national defence, energy, infrastructure, water resources, clean water supply, culture, education, and health.
In response, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet warmly welcomed the ambassador and his delegation, and expressed high appreciation for the ambassador’s dedicated efforts in strengthening and expanding Cambodian-French relations and cooperation. He also expressed his satisfaction with the progress of bilateral cooperation, particularly the growing engagement between senior government leaders and private sectors of both countries.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei thanked the Government of France for its long-standing support across various fields and affirmed Cambodia’s readiness to further deepen and expand relations and cooperation to make them even more robust and mutually beneficial.
