(Phnom Penh): Luxembourg’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Xavier Bettel, sent a letter of appreciation to Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen, thanking him for the warm welcome extended during his visit to Cambodia from 29 March to 2 April 2025, as part of the official delegation accompanying Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg.

“I would like to express my sincere appreciation to you for your warm welcome on the occasion of my visit with H.R.H. the Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg to the Kingdom of Cambodia from 29 March to 2 April 2025. It was an honour to sit down with you and your son Hun Manet for an exchange of views on deepening our bilateral cooperation. It was also important to us to convey our deepest condolences in person to you and your family on the passing of your dear brother, Hun San, on 28 March 2025,” according to the letter seen by Fresh News on Tuesday (Jul. 8).

“This visit, in spite of its difficult context, provided a valuable opportunity to further strengthen the close ties between our two countries and to explore new avenues of cooperation. We were also honoured by the meaningful exchanges with other Cambodian leaders and impressed by the richness of Cambodia’s cultural heritage.”
