(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call by Chen Zhou, Vice Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, on 15 July, 2025 at the Peace Palace.
During the meeting, Chen Zhou thanked Samdech Thipadei for allowing him and his delegation to pay a courtesy call on. He conveyed warm greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Chinese Premier Li Qiang to Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen and to Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet.
He emphasised that the state visit of President Xi Jinping to Cambodia in April 2025 stands as a strong testament to the growing and positive development of Cambodia-China relations.
He further added that in the context of global uncertainty, and amid increasing geopolitical and economic tensions, it is ever more important for Cambodia and China to further strengthen and expand the cooperation of both countries at all levels and across all sectors. He particularly highlighted the need to continue nurturing bilateral ties at the government-to-government and party-to-party levels, and the continued training of the next generation of youth, the successors in both countries, to enhance their capabilities and prepare them to be the future leaders of both countries.
For his part, Samdech Thipadei expressed his warm welcome and pleasure in meeting Chinese Vice Minister Chen Zhou and his delegation during their visit to Cambodia. He highly valued the progress in relations between the two countries at all levels, noting the achievement of the 'All-weather Cambodia-China Community with a Shared Future in the New Era', which has been implemented comprehensively across all levels, including government bodies, ministries, institutions, as well as at the capital and provincial levels.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet emphasised that the strong bilateral ties are inseparable from the deep-rooted relationship between the two ruling parties, with youth engagement serving as a fundamental pillar. He encouraged the youth of both countries to continue strengthening and expanding closer ties and cooperation in order to contribute to deepening the growing bilateral relations.
