(Phnom Penh): On 16 July 2025, the Phnom Penh Municipal Unity Command conducted a crackdown on multiple locations suspected of concealing online scam operations in Sangkat Boeung Keng Kang III, Boeung Keng Kang District, and Sangkat Khmuonh, Sen Sok District, Phnom Penh.

During the operation, the task force found 75 Taiwanese nationals, 24 Chinese nationals, and one Vietnamese national. In addition, authorities seized 469 mobile phones, 122 desktop computers, 5 laptops, 34 Taiwanese passports, 2 vehicles, and numerous unused SIM cards.

At present, the Taiwanese, Chinese, and Vietnamese nationals, along with all confiscated materials, have been handed over to the Commissariat of Phnom Penh Municipal Police for further legal procedures. Authorities affirmed their commitment to taking the strictest legal measures against the ringleaders involved in these online scams.
