(Kandal): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet called on all relevant stakeholders to strengthen their participation with the Royal Government in a nationwide campaign to combat all forms of violence and exploitation against women and children.

The premier spoke on Wednesday (Jul. 23) during an official inauguration of the Lotus Center, located in Takhmao City, Kandal Province.

Samdech Thipadei reaffirmed the Royal Government’s strong commitment to fighting all forms of abuse and exploitation, aiming to uphold the well-being of citizens, particularly women and children, who are among the most vulnerable groups.

“Therefore, I urged all ministries, institutions, authorities at all levels, the private sector, civil society, development partners, and national and international organizations to enhance their collaboration with the Royal Government in the campaign against all forms of abuse and exploitation throughout Cambodia,” the premier underscored.

It should be noted that the Child Protection Unit of the Cambodia Children’s Fund is the result of a collaborative initiative between the General Commissariat of National Police and the Cambodia Children’s Fund. The unit was established in 2013 with the objective of providing comprehensive protection in investigations and support services for children who are victims of abuse, exploitation, and trafficking.

Furthermore, the Child Protection Unit operates with a long-term vision, a clear mission, and sound values. It continues to serve as a tripartite leadership model guiding the unit’s success in protecting Cambodian children through investigative and protective services for victims of various forms of abuse.
