(Kandal): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet reaffirmed that every genuine civil society organisation is always warmly welcomed by the Royal Government without any discrimination.

The premier spoke on Wednesday (Jul. 23) during an official inauguration of the Lotus Center, located in Takhmao City, Kandal Province. This centre is a child protection unit under the Cambodian Children’s Fund organization.

“The Royal Government welcomes all civil society organisations. Some say the Royal Government has issues with these organisations, but that is not true. Since the beginning, we especially welcome partner organisations that carry out genuine, concrete work to assist the people and support all sectors of Cambodia,” the premier underscored.

Furthermore, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said that the Royal Government continues to regard civil society organisations as special partners with whom it cooperates and supports.

The premier also noted that since the leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the Royal Government of Cambodia has always supported organisations that work sincerely to help Cambodia.

In the same context, Samdech Thipadei praised and highly valued the efforts of Scott Neeson, Founder and Executive Director of the Cambodian Children’s Fund, James MacCabe, Executive Director of the Child Protection Unit, as well as all leaders and staff at the Child Protection Unit and the Cambodian Children’s Fund, who have devoted their physical and mental energies to cooperate with the Royal Government in the care, support, protection, and restoration of the rights of victims of abuse, providing renewed hope in life, especially for the most vulnerable children.

Samdech Thipadei noted that what Scott Neeson has done for Cambodian children is work done wholeheartedly and sincerely. He expressed deep appreciation for Neeson’s selfless sacrifice of his life to serve Cambodian children.
