(Prey Veng): On 22 July 2025, Khmer Enterprise (KE) and the Entrepreneurship Development and Incubation Institute (EDII) of the National University of Cheasim Kamchaymear (NUCK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) witnessed by Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, and the chairman of NUCK-EDII, and Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation, and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Khmer Enterprise.

Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, and the chairman of NUCK-EDII stated that, “This MoU is a shared commitment to invest in Cambodia’s next generation of entrepreneurs. Through UniPreneur, we shape the future of our students and transform ideas into opportunities through ventures and challenges.”

Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation, and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Khmer Enterprise, said, “With the right support, aspiring young entrepreneurs, startups, and SMEs nationwide can transform their ideas into impactful enterprises, contributing to the diversified growth of Cambodia’s economy.”

The signatory parties are Vanmunin Chhieng, Delegate of Royal Government in charge as CEO of Khmer Enterprise and Seth Khan, Rector of the National University of Cheasim Kamchaymear. This strategic partnership is part of the KE’s flagship UniPreneur Program, which fosters collaboration between both institutions. The UniPreneur Program aims to establish a series of entrepreneurship education programs at universities nationwide, spanning from ideation to the startup readiness stage. In 2025, the UniPreneur program engages more than 50 universities with around 3,000 applicants across the country, plus 6,000 participants who might be interested in the program next year.

KE and EDII will bring about the startup development programs such as innovation challenges, pre-incubation, and incubation initiatives. Both institutions will also work closely on capacity building through training, mentorship, and resource-sharing to empower students, educators, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

In addition, the MoU outlines a shared vision to promote inclusive and sustainable economic development by connecting rural entrepreneurs with national and international networks. The partnership reinforces the commitment to supporting the national entrepreneurship agenda through education, access to opportunities, and strategic cooperation.
