(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn held a telephone conversation with the Honorable Allison Hooker, US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, to discuss ways to further strengthen Cambodia-US bilateral relations and efforts to ensure the peaceful resolution of the border dispute between Cambodia and Thailand on Tuesday (May 12).
Both sides welcomed the continued positive momentum in bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation across areas of mutual interest, including defence, security, and efforts to combat transnational crimes.
Cambodian foreign minister also expressed appreciation for the United States’ support for the Cambodia-Thailand peace process and reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to the full implementation of the Ceasefire Agreement of 28 July 2025, the Kuala Lumpur Joint Declaration signed on 26 October 2025, and the Joint Statement of the 3rd Special General Border Committee Meeting held on 27 December 2025.
The minister further emphasized the importance of resolving disputes through peaceful means and in accordance with international law.
