(Phnom Penh): Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call from Trinh Van Quyet, Member of the Politburo and Chairman of the Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and his delegation at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh on Wednesday (May 13).
During the meeting, Trinh Van Quyet expressed his admiration and high appreciation for Cambodia’s progress and development across all sectors.
He expressed his firm belief that, under the visionary leadership of Samdech Thipadei, Cambodia would continue to develop and achieve even greater accomplishments. He also expressed satisfaction with and high regard for the excellent progress of bilateral relations and cooperation over the past nearly 60 years, and voiced his confidence that the traditional bond of friendship and closeness as good neighbours would continue to grow stronger, more stable, and enduring.
Furthermore, he emphasised that the Vietnamese Government and the Communist Party of Viet Nam would continue to promote the implementation of the cooperation agreements reached by the top leaders of both countries to achieve fruitful outcomes in line with the agreed directions.
In response, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet congratulated and highly valued the rapid economic development of Viet Nam under the leadership of its Government and the Communist Party of Viet Nam.
He praised the growth of bilateral relations and cooperation, expressing satisfaction with the excellent ties at the state-to-state and party-to-party levels, as well as the close people-to-people relations. Samdech Thipadei also recalled the shared history of the past 60 years, noting that both nations had faced difficulties and overcome numerous challenges together.
In this regard, the prime minister emphasised further strengthening the bonds between the two countries and stressed that long-term bilateral cooperation must continue to be nurtured and expanded through the spirit of solidarity among the younger generations of both nations.
Both sides also discussed enhancing cooperation in key areas, including politics, economy, trade and investment, defence and security, culture and tourism, and infrastructure connectivity.
