(Battambang): Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn, as High Representative of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, together with Ueno Atsushi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Cambodia, presided over the Handover Ceremony of the Achievements of the Project for Integrated Mine Clearance and Landmine Victim Assistance, Phase II, and the launch of Ground Operation Commencement of the New Project, Phase III, under the Japanese Government's grant assistance.
The ceremony was held on Monday morning (May 18) at CMAC MORODOK TECHO Development Center (CDC) in Koas Kralor District, Battambang Province.
The ceremony was also attended by the delegate of the Royal Government in charge as Director General of the Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC), the governor of Battambang Province, members of the National Assembly, members of the Royal Government of Cambodia, ambassadors, representatives of international organizations, civil servants, armed forces, CMAC officials and staff, teachers, students and local residents, with a total of 2,042 participants.
Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn expressed his profound gratitude for this valuable assistance of 2 billion Japanese yen ( approximately over USD 17 million) extended by the people and Government of Japan in support of the Project for Integrated Mine Clearance and Landmine Victim Assistance, Phase II in Pursat, Battambang and Palin Provinces and new projects under Phase III, amounting to 1.7 billion Japanese yen, (approximately over USD 11 million) implemented in Pursat, Battambang and Koh Kong Provinces.
