(Phnom Penh): Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Senate President, Acting Head of State of Cambodia, extended warm congratulations to Maria Fernanda Lay, President of the National Parliament of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, on the occasion of the 24th Anniversary of the country’s National Day, according to a letter seen by Fresh News on Thursday (May 21).

“As Timor-Leste commemorates this special national milestone, I commend the remarkable progress and achievements the nation has attained through farsighted leadership, resilience, and the enduring aspirations of its people. Cambodia highly values the close friendship and cooperation that our two countries have cultivated over the years, founded upon mutual respect, solidarity, and shared regional aspirations. I am convinced that our cooperation will continue to grow in depth and scale, for the best interests of our two peoples,” Samdech Techo wrote in the letter.

He also expressed confidence that the cooperation between Cambodia and Timor-Leste legislative institutions will continue to deepen, contributing meaningfully to inter-parliamentary dialogue, and stronger institutional collaboration in support of peace, stability, and sustainable development of the two countries and the whole region.
